The “Enter credit card charges” function is one of my favourite features of QuickBooks.  You can enter each transaction and let the program calculate the HST for you.  Even better, you can download the transactions from your bank to speed up the data entry.  You can then reconcile to the credit card statement much like you do with your bank reconciliation.  I usually create names like, fuel, meals etc. in my other names list.  I then create aliases when downloading the transactions.  That way I don’t have every gas station or restaurant listed in my names lists.
